This Feeling Alive Tour:
Trampolene / The Surrenders / Lacuna Bloome / King Kuda

Green Door Store, Brighton

This Feeling top man Mikey Jonns' Big Red Bus rides to the seaside for a winter musical stop off at the Green Door Store situated in an old disused stableyard under the city's main railway station arches, but has become one of the major grassroots music venues in the city.

Bringing along four acts for the ride, tonight local band King Kuda give out a good slice of indie pop as they open proceedings, with a topping of funk for good measure. My favourite song of their set ‘Champagne’ encapsulates this band nicely.

Setlist:
Storm on the Ocean
Lately
Wildflower
Closer to Nowhere
Waterside
Champagne
All or Nothing
Burning Bridges

The future already looks like it'll be blossoming nicely next year for another Brighton band, Lacuna Bloome. After a few years honing their craft, they are starting to make waves in the industry with a cracking setlist that I couldn’t fault in its content. New single ‘Find Your Way’ was especially welcomed by the crowd as they danced and generally got into the groove.

Setlist:
Hello World Here We Are
Alright
I Am
Find Your Way
Pink Sky
Fin

A touch Midlands indie soul is delivered by Birmingham outfit The Surrenders who bring some much needed funk to keep our dancing feet moving, whilst vocalist Connor Brooks takes the shoes off his. This is a band that loves touring and sending out their message far and wide. Playing new song ‘Maybe There’ll Be Blood’ shows off the edgy guitar riffs of Richard Jones that blends in seamlessly with Connor's bluesy jazz vocals and makes for a buzzing set overall.

Setlist:
Shouldn’t Have To Dig
Maybe There’ll Be Blood,
Dirty English Story
Pursuit of Love
No Paper

Main act tonight Trampolene have something you just can’t put a finger on. But you can never call it boring and frontman Jack Jones tonight is doing his level best to cement these values by forgetting lines, breaking strings and generally having the time of his life - just thank god that the crowd loves and forgives him.

I like the way they introduced some slowed up versions of their usual songs, with ‘Gangway’ especially catching my attention; and there was not a dry eye in the house during ‘Beautiful Pain’ - including Jack. But soon the boys were soon back in high octane mode with amps at Spinal Tap ‘11’ and a moshing crowd that was glad to hear the poem ‘Poundland’ just to give their poor dancing feet a rest.

Setlist:
Under The Strobe Light
You Do Nothing For Me
Alcohol Kiss
It's Not Rock & Roll
Ketamine
Adrenaline
The Gangway
Beautiful Pain
Hard Times For Dreamers
Imagine Something Yesterday
Tonight Will Be Fine
The One Who Loves You
Poundland
