Latest exports from the Emerald Isle, Kilkenny's The Wha have just made their entrance with an incendiary debut single, ‘Innocents’ - out via Chess Club on August 30.

The four 18-year-old pop-punks - dual vocalists and guitarists Finn Cusack and Sam Cullen, Marek Lech (bass) and Abe G. Harris (drums) - are already set to play Electric Picnic this weekend, followed by support shows with Two Door Cinema Club in October.

A paean to growing up, the Catholic Church’s well-documented scandals and addiction, ‘Innocents’ encompasses The Wha’s mantra: “fucking great songs played with fucking great energy.”

What more could you ask for!
