Bombay Bicycle Club stream new acoustic EP, ‘Two Lives’
Words: Ellie Ward
Bombay Bicycle Club release their new acoustic EP, ‘Two Lives’, tomorrow (July 24).
The four-track EP features acoustic versions of three tracks from their ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’ album: ‘Racing Stripes’, ‘Is It Real’ and ‘Let You Go’ - plus a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s ‘Two Lives’.
“My dad introduced me to this beautiful Bonnie Raitt song on one of our long car journeys, and I instantly fell in love with the harmonies,” says singer Jack Steadman. “We also felt it was a fitting title for our EP where we showcase the two lives of our songs, one that is layered and one stripped back."
The EP is available to download via a pay-what-you-can basis on the band’s website, with all proceeds going towards the work of two organisations: Chineke!, who create opportunities for black and ethnic minority musicians, and nurtures new talent by providing mentorship; and Youth Music, who invest in music programmes for young people in deprived areas
