HANYA bring more shoegaze-tinged ambience to ‘Texas’

Words: Leah Raymond

Out today, Brighton dreampoppers HANYA follow EP ‘Sea Shoes’ released earlier this year, with new shoegaze-tinged track ‘Texas’.

“‘Texas’ was entirely written and recorded during lockdown, testing ourselves to work remotely as a group," says the quartet's vocalist and guitarist Heather Sheret.

"The track explores the feeling of wanting to run away with someone when you first meet them – the head-over-heels uncertainty, the self-doubt and the desire to know each other entirely”.

Sheret slides her dulcet voice over the flowing rhythms of guitar and bass courtesy of Benjamin Varnes and Dylan Fanger respectively, and Jack Watkins' steadying drums, for an assured harmonious work.
