Looking back into our archives, we came across a band we had last written about in the summer of 2016, Color Tongue
At that time the Brooklyn-based psych-pop quartet had just released 'Sprouts', the first single and title track of their debut album.
Now we catch up with them just having earlier this month dropped a new EP called 'Worry Wart', the follow-up to 2018's EP, 'Bealing Bells', which finds them still delivering spacey, experimental psychedelia on the six-track record.
"We've been working on this for about two years," says vocalist George Miata. "It's a very personal record that we're stoked on. A constant theme on this record is having to make decisions and getting hung up on it and facing the realities of getting older and the consequences of your actions carrying more weight.
"There were dead rats in the walls of our apartment. Like something straight out of a horror film, maggots started crawling out and falling from the ceiling. Inevitably they turned into flies whipped around our humble abode. They'd go in and out of my room constantly.
"I was dealing with some stuff at the time and already was having a lot of trouble sleeping unless I was stoned or whatever. I felt pretty out of sorts for a few months and kept feeling a lot of anxiety and was trying to tune everything out while still being present for what was happening around me."
