Foxbite 'Hardly Slept At All' prior to Little Indie's Sing & Tell!

Hereford-based pop punk/emo five-piece Foxbite, released their debut single ‘Nauticus’ back in February, with its follow up, 'Hardly Slept At All, unveiled on June 28.

Who are you?

My name’s Isaac Appleby and I’m the bassist for Foxbite, and some guys follow me around and happen to be alright musicians: James Ling, lead guitar; Tom Beddard, rhythm guitar; Matt Ling on drums, and Steve Goode shouting into a mic.

Tell us something about yourself and how you came to be where you are today.

There’s no real grandiose story to this one, just kinda stumbled through like everyone else. It’s complete happen stance that I lived in close proximity to some great musicians who let me tag along.

Give us an idea of your musical style and influences.

Broad, very very broad, It’s hard to pin 'cause they change everyday and we're still writing so frequently. Alex G is personally one of my favourite songwriters, but right now I’m currently digging Dinosaur Pile-Up's new releases. As for a band, our sound is just a blob of bits of everything. I find similarities between us and Fall of Troy, Tiny Moving Parts, but it’s hard to pin point anything to the like of us which sounds really cliche, but we are a very diverse bunch when it comes to music taste and our current set list is a real reflection of that.

Explain the production and writing process behind your songs.

It’s different for each song, for the most part it’s a group collaborative but typically James will go away and write a lovely tune and then Steve will slap a vocal melody and some great catchy lyrics onto it, pretty straight forward! Though James probably summons some spawn of Satan to help write some of his ideas, I’m more: “OOFT THIS BASS RIFF IS FAT!”.

Tell us a little about your new single.

LIVELY. FUN. CATCHY. 'Hardly Slept At All' is a bit of a bop, if I do say so myself. Really looking forward to showing all my family and friends the music video which is going along side it too. Was great fun to record and put together. I’m really liking how it’s turned out, we’re all in strong agreement that this is a big jump of improvement from 'Nauticus' with a completely different vibe that's still true to our sound and style.
