Danish post-punk trio Shiny Darkly are set to release their debut album, 'Little Earth', as a New Year offering on January 27 2014 via the Crunchy Frog label. Prior to that, however, they release the ‘Dead Stars' EP on November 11. This three-track work features two non-album songs and what can only be described as epic - all 9 minutes and 34 seconds of the title track.
If you thought you had got to grips with the Copenhagen outfit through their first foray last year with 'Diana', you truly will have your head blown into next week by this. What starts out on a more-or-less familiar Krautrock-stroke-psychedelic path, then leads into a cacophony of some of the most ear-blinding sounds you will hear this side of Santa dropping down the chimney. And as for the last two-and-a-half minutes of white noised effects...don't even get us started. Blinding.
