Watch :: Foo Fighters Playing As The Holy Shits In Brighton
Foo Fighters played the first of their small, intimate shows in the UK last night (September 10) at a packed Concorde 2 in Brighton.
Billed as The Holy Shits, they played through a 19-song set - which included a cover of Tom Petty's 'Breakdown' - kicking off with 'Enough Space' from 1997's 'The Colour And The Shape', followed by 'I'll Stick Around' and 'See You'.
Dave Grohl, on fine form as he laughed and joked with the crowd, explained why they had wanted to play a small venue show, saying: "I seem to remember years ago we played this club and it was also hot as balls. When we were asked to come
over and play the Invictus Games on
Sunday I thought 'we haven't played in the UK in years, and I thought we'd try to play gigs like this pretty much every night we're here until we have to go home. And it gives us a chance to see your faces before we play that week at Wembley Stadium."
With their UK covers act The UK Foo Fighters in the room - "we don't wanna shit the bed in front of the UK Foo Fighters. They'll be like 'that's not how it goes" - they were later joined on stage by Jay from the group to play 'White Limo', with him replacing Grohl for the song.
Closing the set with 'Everlong', they were brought back on stage for an encore as the crowd chanted "Holy Shits! Holy Shits!" brought the band back on for an encore of 'All My Life', which resulted in a free-for-all mosh ensuing.
