Shot in black-and-white by director Kahlil Joseph, the new FKA twigs video for 'Video Girl' - a track from her debut album 'LP1' is one very understandable by the American market, depicting the execution by lethal injection of a criminal as twigs looks on.
She also imagines herself being in the room, cavorting around the writhing body. It's a strong visual, that's for sure.
Nominated for the 2014 Mercury prize, ahead of tonight's announcement FKA twigs and Kate Tempest are both leading favourites to win. According to the latest odds from Ladbrokes, FKA twigs has odds of 5/2 for 'LP1', followed by Tempest, whose 'Everybody Down' is 3/1.
FKA twigs plays two dates at the London Roundhouse next year: February 19 (sold out) and February 20.
