Introducing :: BÊTE
BÊTE are a four-piece alt-indie Manchester band who got together late in 2012 after all meeting at high school and college. All now 21, they have already got a head start with live support slots to JAWS, Girl Friend and Trampolene.
Set to release 'Revolve', their debut single, on April 7, this is also the lead cut from their six-track EP 'BASK', which will be out later this year. The tracks, artwork and forthcoming video have all been self-produced by the band.
With roots in electronica and instrumentation taken from indie and experimental hip-hop, BÊTE (French for 'beast') offer something slightly left of the norm, citing Death Grips, Machinedrum, Radiohead and Wild Beasts as influences, they they have developed a sound that uses atypical sound signatures within a pop context.
The four-minute 'Revolve' weighs in with some attention-grabbing vocals, nicely arranged swooning guitars and a smooth catchiness.
BÊTE are: Gabriel Cavanagh - Vocals / guitar, Jonah Baldwin - Guitar / Synth, Jordan Kewen - Bass / Synth, James Crosley - Drums.
