June 5 2015 - Hot Top Ten

STRANGEHEART - DOGHOUSE
The LA duo serve up another platter of indie rock from SoCal, complete with energetic guitars, live drums, raw vocals and catchy synth rhythms.

WHITE LILAC - THE GIRL WHO STOLE THE EIFFEL TOWER
Distinctly French feel to this single released last week (dedicated to Audrey Hepburn) from the experimental art rock four-piece from Wiltshire - which even includes a saxophone and harmonium.

JARRYD JAMES - GIVE ME SOMETHING
The Brisbane musician follows up his highly successful debut single 'Do You Remember', with organ and Wurlitzer on this Joel Little (Lorde, Broods) produced new offering.

MR TWIN SISTER - THE EROTIC BOOK
Indie dream-pop from the Long Islanders we featured here last August after they had just added the 'Mr.' to their name, share this lush new track, filled with percussive beats and sinuous vibes. Catch them on tour with Moon King in the US in July.

ART TRIP & THE STATIC SOUND - FOREVER / FOR LOB 415 EDIT
The band inform us that "a full 'freak out' version will appear on the next LP later this year." For now this version is out as a digital release on June 15 on Fiasco Recordings. Fronted by Melodie Holliday, it's as brutal and uncompromising as all their work. Lethal.

THE BATS PAJAMAS - THIS AINT NO
The Toronto garage noise punk trio - with a predilection for poor punctuation! - have just released 'No Hello', their latest EP, and first since 2013's 'Totally', full of scratchy DIY chugging guitars and abrasive vocals

NO JOY - HOLLYWOOD TEETH
Taken from 'More Faithful' out June 8, the third album release by the Montreal shoegazers - and first as a four-piece - who string out atmospheric guitar effects and lush harmonies over barely two minutes.

HIGH JINX - CHERRIES
Seductive vocals on an 80s style electronic base from Toronto electropop duo (Ranny Lee, vocals; Mark Moby Holman, production, keyboards, guitar, bass) taken from their May released debut EP 'Cut & Run'.

WILDFRONT - JANUARY
Following on from their 'Strange Gold' EP released in February, the Nashville synthpop quartet now unveil this new shimmering dream guitar pop single.

MIDCITY - NEEDLES
Latest single - released this week - from the Leicester alt-rockers. Influenced by Nirvana and DFA 1979, they deliver raw, jagged guitars in dirty garage style. See live at The Musician, Leicester on June 12.
