Leeds post-punk five-piece have been creating a quiet stir for awhile now over the course of two EPs, and with this latest offering, from their debut full-length 'Dissemble' out next month, they look certain to take that to a loud roar stage.
'Society' reaches for scorching guitar intensity, as the vocalist Craig Johnson leads an assault of low urgency against rabid percussion in an abrasive and masterful four minutes.
Johnson notes that lyrically, the song is a critique of a fragmented and harsh society: "This song encapsulates a longing for a complete society, a society where people won’t be judged, where people can have faith in humanity. We don’t live in that place now, especially with this government, but we can change this."
'Dissemble' is released on August 21 via Tough Love Records.
