They don't come more sultry and alluring than Noire's Jessica Mincher on the title track of their debut EP 'Baby Blue', released last Friday, September 18.
The Sydney dark pop trio - Mincher (vocals/keys), Billy James (guitar) and Chris Stewart (bass); joined by guest drummer Luke Davidson of The Preatures - had already given us an EP - produced by multi-ARIA award-winner Wayne Connolly (Silverchair, Youth Group, The Vines) - taster with the melting melodics of ‘Just Like Honey’ and 'Those Days', and the moodily moist 'Baby Blue' continues their dreamy ambient style
“It has a pretty classic pop structure and we were watching a lot of westerns so for me it has a sense of freedom and an older, timeless feel," says Mincher of the track. "It’s about love but what happens if it goes? The guitar feature at the start is the most beautiful part of the whole EP; our producer said it reminded him of Peter Green's guitar in Fleetwood Mac’s song 'Albatross'. We put the drums' mics in the stairwell of the studio so the drums have this pretty big and reverbed sound.”
And apart from all that - we want Jessica's hair!
Noire play the Surry Hills Festival on September 26, followed by:

October 02: Goodgod Club, Sydney (supporting Dr Goddard)
