Track Of The Day :: Rehearsed Living - Losing Traction

Words: Sam Geary

A new one on me, though Sheffield dream-synth-pop trio Rehearsed Living appear to have been around for a few years now.

Back with the follow-up to last autumn's 'Time and Place' EP, the three, husband and wife Steven Jones (vocals, guitar, keys, drums) and Ruth Davies (keys), and (no relation) Simon Jones (bass), have just shared 'Losing Traction'.

Recorded on, Steven says, "a battered multi-tracker that I've owned for the last 13 years", the song us available as a free download in order they can "reach as many people as possible and hope the songs that mean so much to us, mean something to others too."

This dreamy five minutes may well strike just the right note with its shiny synth opening and deep bass groove, before it strikes a Tame Impala feel after the first 60 seconds soars along on psych-gaze textures.
