Track Of The Day :: Sam Fowke - Red Handed

It was a toss-up between making young Mr Fowke here a One To Watch or Track Of The Day. We opted for the latter on the grounds of 'Red Handed' being simply too divine to be anything less - though the singer-songwriter-producer must also be one to keep an eye on.

Gloucester-raised Sam, now residing the other side of the Bristol Channel in Cardiff, makes that kind of achingly beautiful acoustic alt-folk type music that is hard to surpass in terms of both lyrics - here dealing with “deceit and discovery…the outrage and the acceptance, the shock and the feelings of betrayal” - and melody. 'Red Handed' flows at a measured pace, interspersed with percussion, and some exquisite moments when the vocal soars - and your heart does likewise.

Sam is offering 'Red Handed' as a free download currently - an offer you might be well advised to snap up now, since when the Fowke name becomes as widely known as Kiwanuka, Sheeran, Ezra, Tenterhook et.al you might be glad you did.
