Dutch three-piece Bombay may well put you off a restaurant meal after watching this video to album track 'Gold Rush' taken from their 'Show Your Teeth' album which was released on V2 Records last week.
Directed by Mirka Duijn & Nina Spiering, the Amsterdam-based indie rock outfit's Mathias Janmaat has said the song is about greed, "to keep a craving for respect without regard to others." In the video that is depicted by the scene of obviously minted restaurant diners who overlook, or prefer to turn a blind eye to what goes on behind the pass.
Bombay seem to have taken something of a change of direction with this new album. After two years of experimenting on the lo-fi and 90s rock side, a change of band member and a leaning towards a more hooky synth-pop perspective.
Bombay play an album release show on February 11 at OT31 in Amsterdam.
