JAPANESE BREAKFAST - EVERYBODY WANTS TO LOVE YOU
First cut from the debut album 'Psychopomp', out on April 1 via Yellow K Records, quirky catchiness (“Can I get your number? Can I get you into bed?”) by Philadelphia's Michelle Zauner, which features Radiator Hospital’s Sam Cook-Parrott. Catch at upcoming SXSW in Texas. Star rating: ****/5




BOA - RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME
Slick electro-pop follow-up from the London/Bristol trio after last year's debut 'Holier'. This second track from their forthcoming debut EP (out in May via Hand In Hive), features catchy synth lines, melodic guitar riffs and dark lyrics (“Do you know how I played you/‘Cos I’m always in the right place at the right time”). Star rating: ****/5




MEADOWLARK - PARAFFIN
Title track from the upcoming second EP (out April 22 via Believe Recordings), written on piano by Bristol duo Kate McGill (vocals, keys) and Daniel Broadley (guitar, synths). Crystalline pop melodies crafted around of Kate’s vocals accompanied by rich electronic vibes. Star rating: ***/5




BLOODFLOWER - HELP ME OUT
Latest single from the alt-electronic Cardiff duo, artist Jonnie Owen and producer Tom Manning. Follow-up to their debut EP 'Noise', this new track (from second EP, 'Piano Songs'), once again balances synth-filled electro hooks with a catchy, upbeat rhythm.
