Hailing from a town called Barrie, in Ontario, Canada, The Alpacas' new single 'Wax' - which comes from the full-length 'The Best Is Behind You', produced by Kevin Dietz (The Cranberries, Alexisonfire, Placebo) and out on October 14 via Willow Music - draws inspiration from the likes of Johnny Ramone and the Strokes.
"Musically, it’s as if Johnny Ramone joined The Strokes as a third guitarist. Lyrically it's also inspired by the song 'Left of the Dial' by The Replacements from their 1985 album 'Tim'".
The four-piece come up with a little blast of vibrant indie rock in 'Wax' - which they describe as "about being happiest playing a gig. But it's also about how being social when you don't always want to be is a trade off for doing what you love. Getting what you want also means keeping yourself in check" - as rips along three-minutes, with an infectious chorus and scorching guitars.
The Alpacas play The Foxx Lounge Rock Bar and Hotdoggery in Barrie, Ontario on September 2.
