Track Of The Day :: Lying Bstrds - Youth And Old Age

Words: Ellie Ward

You might be fooled by a name such as Lying Bstrds into thinking this band were going full-core hardcore or were a parody band related to Rik Mayall's Alan B'Stard. In fact - fortunately - they are neither, but they are rather damned good.

Released on October 23 (October 21 in US) through Formula RCDS, Liverpool’s Lying Bstrds are back with new single 'Youth And Old Age'. It's a belter of infectious riffs and reverb with Henry Pulp presiding over the raw and punchy vocal delivery. This is one you'll be singing to yourself for weeks.

"The idea behind 'Youth & Old Age' is an attempt to better yourself as a person and escape the norms of reality," say the Bstrds. "It's about realising everything we do, everything we say, our day to day life, is just a big old game."

Lying Bstrds are on tour this month, dates as follows:

October
22 Coventry Kasbah *
28 Stockport The Blossoms

November
04 Liverpool Music Week

* with Clean Cut Kid
