'Tank Tops', the track, has nothing to do with the wearable garment, as far as we are aware (though trying to find the band on a Google search amidst the clothing apparel is something of a problem), but a lot to do with being the second single from VYD, which came out this week as a digital release.
Originally from southern California, now based in Brooklyn, New York, the VYD duo - Justin Howard (vocals), Nick Wisse (guitar) - formed six months ago and describe their sound as 'NuDisco/Rock'. 'Tank Tops' should certainly get you clapping along to its catchy, punchy beat.
We are told that 'VYD' came about as a derivation of 'VID': "We were fascinated with screens and how they change our perception, so we were going to call ourselves VID, but ended up with the current acronym thanks to autocorrect. We thought it was fitting."
