You may not yet have heard of Teesside's Llovers, the four-piece from Middlesbrough and Darlington, but show 'em some love, and they could stick around for a while.
Formed 'officially' just this past October - "but Jack [previously with Violet Deep and Coquin Migale], Joe [formerly with KIDD, as was fourth member Marty] and David [also in Violet Deep, and with Brighton band Capture] spent the summer jamming" - Llovers are a new name in the frame from the North East. But if this first track, 'Borderlands', is anything to judge by, they could well be a hot name for 2017 'Ones To Watch' lists.
'Borderlands', their self-released, self-produced debut out earlier this month, is a sumptuous, swooning four-minute mix of shoegaze, dreampop and jangly pop shimmer. And according to guitarist David Macnab, there's more where this one came from, with their follow-up out early next year.
If you can't wait that long to hear more, Llovers play their first live gig on December 8 at Think Tank in Newcastle, supporting Bruising. And keep check on their Facebook as more dates are in the process of being confirmed.
