The So So Glos return to UK next week with shows to help the homeless
Words: Ellie Ward
New York punk rockers The So So Glos head back to the UK next week for a headline UK tour, following their just released new album 'Kamikaze'.
Aiming to raise awareness and money for the many people that are homeless and sleeping on the streets this winter, the band have launched the ‘Can For A Can’ campaign where fans and people attending their forthcoming ‘Brexit From The USA’ tour can exchange a can of food for a can of beer to be donated to the homeless at selective venues on the tour.
"We're making an effort to support the prevention of homelessness in whatever way we can, wherever we are,” says vocalist and bassist, Levi Zaru (Aleksander). “We're urging our fans in the UK to make a donation. Bring a food can to one of our shows, in exchange for a beer can. This world needs more acts of random kindness. No matter how small.”
The housing charity Shelter have reported this week that more than a quarter of a million people in England alone are homeless this winter so any participation goes someway to help this enormous problem.
