'Not Waking Up' touches on a lo-fi, synthpop note enhanced by Ash Cooke's soulful vocals that lend late night appeal.
BE GOOD are the latest act to emerge from the dreaming spires of Oxford, and 'Not Waking Up' is their digital release debut, out yesterday (May 12) through Pilotlights Music.
Speaking about the track vocalist Ash Cooke says: "This song was written about falling asleep at a new year’s party, but ended up touching on themes of disconnection and renewal. I’d been thinking a bit about the myth of Persephone and her annual descent into hell, so Cora (her childhood name) made her way into the song too. But really it’s basically a woozy party anthem for the sleep-deprived."
