For a debut single, the Cheltenham-based alt-rock five-piece Midweek are off to a cracking start.
Produced by Neil Kennedy and Daly George (Milk Teeth, Creeper), 'Honey, Darling', released March 2, is an immediately grabbing sub-four minutes right from the strident guitar opening, of poppy hooks, impassioned vocals, and just the right amount of punk-rock grit.
“'Honey, Darling' is about a friend who was in a really negative relationship. The lyrics I write always tend to be reactions to certain events that happen in my life, good or bad and this one was no different," explains vocalist/guitarist, Joseph Holmes. 'My friend was with someone who walked all over her and it drove me crazy - the lyrics tell that story."
