Sports Team get their buckets & spades and head to 'Margate'

London outfit Sports Team have dropped a new banger in the form of 'Margate'. And there’s a video to match too.

“'Margate'’s a song about English summers,” say the band. “Hosepipe bans. Overgrown hedgerows. Frayed tempers. The season of Reeling in the Years and tailbacks on the A303. We went in to record it with Burke [Reid] during the first group stage games, when things were looking up. Some of that optimism rubbed off.”

And as we are in the middle of one of those English summers right now, what better than to head off to the Kent coastal resort to play a one-off show there tomorrow (August 3), to where they’ll carry a bunch of fans to their own special show.

The rest of us will just have to wait until they hit London’s Scala in September, or on the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds later this month.
