Adelaide's Pinkish Blu describe themselves as a"feelsy four-piece", and new synthpop single 'Capricorn' certainly gives the feels in all the right places.
The follow up to their debut single 'Lovely', the release comes ahead of their BIGSOUND festival appearance (September 4-5) and on the basis of this, we'd definitely recommend a check-out if you are going.
Brice Young's voice is one that immediately connects (and makes you want to hear more of) on this simply delightful 80s inspired, sad-pop vibed number. The synths here perfectly complement the track's guitars and melody without being intrusive, allowing all parts to shine through. Absolutely superb.
Young gives little away on meaning behind 'Capricorn' (which references astrology, Greek mythology and the Bible), saying only "I think the song is up for heavy interpretation, but at the time my mind was caught up in the vast similarities between belief systems and love and relationships, both heavily relying on the same principles. Foggy, ambiguous and quite varied between each and every on of us. Something to live by but at the same time ultimately holding a lot of mystery and grey areas."
