Rousing, thunderous and given a blazing vocal delivery by frontwoman Anne Shields, Glasgow post-punks Dead Pony share their full-on new release, ‘Sharp Tongues’, out today (July 24) via LAB Records.
Confident, assertive and dripping with feisty intent, and dominating guitars, the quartet’s latest effort justifies the excitement surrounding the burgeoning Scottish scene, as they follow in the footsteps of fellow risers The Ninth Wave and Walt Disco.
“‘Sharp Tongues’ is written about those people who absolutely grind your ears. Those people who are hellbent on spreading gossip and starting rumours," states Shields. "They are so unfulfilled with their boring lives, that to add a bit of spice they rely on stirring the pot and starting shit with people. I bet everyone had at least one-person spring to mind after reading that – and that is who this song is about."
