Average Joe tells 'The Truth' on new single
Coming after the earlier 'Promo', Stoke on Trent's Average Joe is back with 'The Truth', out today (September 9)
Linking up with live backing band The Rules again the pop/soul-infused confessional track - "But the truth hurts / time keeps slipping by / And what’s worse / there’s no reason or no rhyme / But the truth hurts / how could I have been so blind / If I’d looked inside / I would have seen it in your eyes" - which Joe Brennan says is “about losing people. Time cannot soothe some forms of loss. The nature of curses, a sort of Sisyphus meets Miss Havisham type monologue. About facing the truth of the underlying situation, which is that ultimately time is slipping by, and we are all moving towards the only inevitable thing, which is death. We will lose it all in time."
