Lovats, a five-piece band from Birmingham who have been slowly working their way up with local live shows and dropping a few demos here and there (as well as a debut EP under their previous name, Quayside), but now comes 'Over'.
The band list one of their influences as Bombay Bicycle Club, and there is strong evidence of that on 'Over'. First hearing may elicit a feel of 'hmm, this is quite good', but by the second hearing you are going to be tapping your feet and wanting to be up on your feet to trip a few dance moves. With a catchy melody, bubbly guitar riffs and some powerful vocals and keyboard touches from the lovely red-headed Ciaran, this has just the right feel for summer.
Yes, we like them. With the right exposure, 'Over' could just be the start for Lovats.
