First Listen :: Panda Cubs

The dark pop, synth-driven sound of Panda Cubs, the Yorkshire/London trio, leans towards their 80's experimental influences on the new track they are sharing, 'Rise'

The video (above) to their debut single was directed by Rob Frost, and simple though it is in format, it allows the Cubs' own style to shine through. Catchy and exuberant riffs and a few handclaps thrown in for good measure, it's an upbeat affair that belies the dark complexity of the video.

They have amassed a healthy number of gigs under their belt over the last two years, playing support to the likes of The Crookes. Upcoming they play Galtres Festival in North Yorkshire on August 23.

'Rise' is out digitally on September 9 on their self-titled debut EP.
