First Listen :: Phantom Runners
New Brighton four-piece Phantom Runners, new to the board and with just a couple of gigs under their belt, they are starting to catch a fire with their lo-fi, dream pop sound.
Their debut single 'It Takes Me Away' is released on September 23 thru Fat Cat Records. Reminiscent of The Smiths, The LAs, The Stone Roses, with some fine guitar hooks, bassline melodies and a frontman, Adam Al-Hilali, who does the biz.
Whilst all living together in a flat in Brighton, which they have used for impromptu gigs over the past year, with fans cramming themselves into the living room. Following on from this style of show and shunning usual methods and embarking on a handful of ‘guerrilla gigs’ across a number of festivals which include Secret Garden Party, Bestival, Playgroup, Latitude and Festival 06.
With a debut EP and tour planned for early 2014, Phantom Runners are one to start checking now.
Phantom Runners play the following London live dates:
September 04
Old Blue Last, London
September 19
Tipsy, London (single launch party)
October 05
The Nest, London
