Polterghost Announce Debut Single - And It's a 'Beast'
Polterghost have announced details of the release of their debut single 'Beast' which will be released on Hate Hate Hate on September 9.
The London-based trio have already started to get a name for themselves, having released taster track ‘Holy Smoke' in May, picking up multiple plays at Radio One and earning their place as Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’. It’s heavy metal with an unabashed garage rock sensibility; grinding riffs giving way to arms-aloft choruses, before a breakdown of blistering shredding.
'Beast' was recorded live on a shoestring budget and is testament to the band’s vehement no-frills approach to production. It’s a philosophy that echoes the lo-fi analogue fetish of their heroes Guided by Voices and Sebadoh, and here Polterghost channel that same guitar-driven sense of fun and abandonment.
Catch Polterghost live in action when they headline Tipsy's, London on August 8. They have also been announced to play the Black Heart, Camden, on September 4 as guests to Loom on their first (of four) night residency at the venue.
Polterghost are: Jock Norton (vocals/guitar), Kit Jennings (bass) and Danny Ward (drums).
