Five-piece dream pop Meadowlake unveil the video to new release 'There's A Fire Rising'.
Watch the video below to the track (along with their debut 'Cold War') which features the band wrapped, pupa-like, in a bandaged skin which unravels as they fall in turn to the ground, revealing lines from the song itself. No, we're not sure quite what it's about either, suffice to say that the song itself with its catchy beat, dreamy vocals and haunting finale, is one we like.
The band, who hail from Groningen in the Netherlands, formed last year, making their live debut early in early 2013, going on to play several local festivals and stages, such as ‘Noorderzon’ and ‘Vera’. Their debut offering, ‘Cold War’ - home recorded in the band's bedrooms - did well on local radio stations and reached number 7 in the Dutch Indie Chart on its release last December - prompting them to be described as "Explosions In The Sky meets The Pixies".
'There's A Fire Rising', their follow-up, was released last month.
Meadowlake are: Jarno Olijve (vocals, guitar), Gertine Veenstra (keyboards, backing vocals), Sélina Aerts (bass), Erik de Breij (guitar), Tjeerd Bennink (drums).
