First Listen :: VEYU
VEYU are a five-piece from Liverpool, who, to judge by their Facebook, would seem to have been around for a couple of years, yet it is seemingly their latest track ‘Running’ that is really starting to get them noticed by bloggers and the likes of Q magazine.
The track was developed at their Fallout Factory creative space and self-produced in sessions at Parr Street Studios, with the intention of 'Running' forming part of their debut release later this spring. The track is one of those brooding, melancholic guitar pieces that delights in its weaving of spatial, dreamy textures, with an 80s feel about it.
Judging by 'Running', and their debut track released last year 'Shadows', VEYU fall into the Wild Beasts/synth pop territory.
VEYU play at the Fallout Factory, Liverpool on February 15.
Veyu are: Chris Beesley - Vocals, Guitar; Adam Bresnen - Vocals, Guitar; James Tidd - Bass; Tom McCabe - Drums ; Donovan Collins - Synth/Keys
