Out next week (February 18), 'Nothing' is the second single from the San Diego-based garage rock four-piece Champ. The track - the follow-up to 'Burnt Alive' - taken from their forthcoming self-titled album, is out on Fleeting Youth Records.
The two-minute-plus 'Nothing' begins with a down-tuned guitar bubbling around shards of spacey effects and light hi-hats before it explodes into a charged-up punk swell. The quick, aggressive drumming sets the pace while reverberated keys croon an eerie backdrop before lead singer Joel Williams begins to sing about being satisfied with hopelessness.
