Spires Debut March Release Of 'Candy Flip'

New York-based neo-psych outfit Spires seemingly came out of nowhere last year, having formed 12 months ago, they burst onto the scene last Summer with a Residency at Piano’s on the Lower East Side, stunning live sets at the Northside Festival and live shows with Temples, Allah-Las, Widowspeak and Hookworms.

The five-piece have also just supported Krautrock's current wunderkinds TOY in North America and are to play this year's SXSW. UK dates are to be announced shortly.

Their forthcoming debut single ‘Candy Flip’, b/w 'Comic Book' made our hot list just before Christmas, and now finally gets its official release. Produced by Connor Hanwick (The Drums/The Pains of Being Pure At Heart) at The Bunker Studios in Brooklyn and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Muse, Johnny Marr, Alberta Cross), it's one of those floating-on-high  swirling pieces that reverberates with Stevenson's "My head begins to crawl with hazy visions of a place I’ve never been before." Yeah, mine too.

'Candy Flip' drops on the Too Pure Singles Club label on March 3, on 7", in red vinyl and as a digital download.

Spires are: Matt Stevenson (lead vocals, guitar), Jack Manley (guitar, vocals), Michael Goodman (synth, guitar, vocals), Jack Collins (bass, vocals) and Carter McNeil (drums)
