Track Of The Day :: Night Flowers - Embers

London-based (a slight detour from their Humberside roots) five-piece Night Flowers who formed last year, kick off their 2014 onslaught with the announcement of their debut EP.

The wistful sound of jangly eighties guitar pop and early nineties shoegaze, completed by the intertwining male/female vocals of siblings Greg and Hester Ullyart, have already made them something of a blogosphere darling since putting first tracks ‘Single Beds’ and ‘North’ online.

Taken from the EP, 'Embers' has all of those shimmering, wistful qualities of fuzzy, reverbed guitars and vocal harmonies that remind of Ride: poppy enough to draw you in yet with a darker core to keep your eardrums hooked.

Recorded with Adam Jaffrey at Unwound Studios, the four-track self-titled EP - out on April 7 - will be available on transparent frosted 10” vinyl to celebrate the 10th release on Dirty Bingo Records (Woman's Hour, Drop Out Venus, SHINIES), as well as digital download.

Night Flowers are supporting Michael A Grammar at The Shacklewell Arms, London on February 27, and host a free entry EP launch at Dalston’s Victoria on April 4.

Night Flowers are: Chris Hardy (guitar and vocals), Sam Lenthall (bass), Zebedee Budworth (drums), Greg Ullyart (guitar and vocals) and Hester Ullyart (vocals)
