Introducing :: Sam Ratcliffe
Originally from North Devon, 25-year-old Sam Ratcliffe has been living in London for the last six years, during which time he has racked up sojourns with Milk Teeth, Pickpockets & Skyrockets (which is still an ongoing project), and at the start of this year was the frontman for short-lived Play Dead, Run. Now, having changed style somewhat - from punky pop to folkie pop - and gone solo, Sam has just uploaded his first track online.
'The Talk We Chat' is the lead title track from his upcoming debut EP, which will comprise another three to be unveiled shortly. It's an interesting little piece, with a quirky urban vocal over smooth acoustic guitar and coupled with a string section. The song itself is described by Sam as being "about the stupid little things we say to each other to make conversation and how often we dwell on things like that when there are such bigger things at stake."
Sam is not saying much himself at this point, but letting his music do the talking. Keep an eye on his Twitter page for further news.
