Listen :: Cruising - Cutlass (Demo)

Words: Linn Branson

If there's one thing that is clear, it's that there is no other band around at the moment sounding quite like Crusing - which has to be a good thing no matter whether you happen to be a fan of their feedback fuelled fuzzy grunge or not.

Following their debut with the punk scuzz fest that was 'You Made Me Do That' - our Track Of The Day in April - the Belfast/Dublin four-piece have shared a new track online, 'Cutlass (Demo).

The band - made up of Benni Johnston (Logikparty), Neil Brogan (Sea Pinks), Claire Miskimmin (Girls Names), Sarah Grimes (September Girls) - continue their DIY ethos, with a down tempo just vocal and guitar for virtually the first two minutes, before it picks up and rips through the second half to close on a drum and guitar thrash. It's scratchy, raw, sounds like a cavernous jam session, and even as a demo is enough to feed the excitement buds.
