Watch :: Cheatahs - The Swan
You may remember hearing Cheatahs' original scorching version of 'The Swan' on their debut 'Sans' EP. Now the London outfit, currently on tour in the US with Eagulls, return with it as their new single taken from their self-titled debut album.
'The Swan' is set for release on July 21 via Wichita Recordings.
The band re-recorded the song for inclusion on their debut album, adding even more power and urgency to the crisp, chiming guitars, rolling bass and energised drums. The song’s lyrics were written by lead guitarist James Wignall, who took inspiration from the Yeats poem “Leda and the Swan”, using the poem as a metaphor for “the obscene power that some people are accorded, and the complete lack of accountability that sometimes goes with it”.
And with that theme in mind, Jonathan Umemura-Pound directed a strange, ominous new video for the song - watch above.

I'm a big fan of their last album and they're brill live, but I'm not sure about this video. Best checked out in the flesh!
