New York City songstress VÉRITÉ has just unveiled a new track from her forthcoming debut EP to follow on from 'Heartbeat' - which was around online since last October, though has now seemingly disappeared both from Soundcloud and YouTube.
Like 'Heartbeat', however, 'Strange Enough' also deals with the often problematic and thorny issue of relationships. "[It's] a contemplation of all the questions I'd ask myself about my relationship, and why we bother ourselves to try to make things work sometimes," she describes it as. “The song goes back and forth between the nostalgia of what was, the reality of how things shift as time moves on, and how ultimately we romanticize moments that are fleeting."
The sharp Elliot Jacobson production coupled with emotive lyrics that engage the senses ("Separate a fragile spine/a hollow hope just to make things right/I’ve been picking up pieces slowly/and wondering why you hold me/take me back to the way it was before"), subtle synths and
pop-friendly chorus, make VÉRITÉ's EP one to be a tad excited about.
