Texas psych-rocking fivesome The Black Angels returned with their latest EP (or mini-album, given all seven tracks worth) 'Clear Lake Forest' earlier this week. After a limited 10" vinyl release on Record Store Day, it is now available thru Blue Horizon in a variety of formats.
‘Sunday Evening’, the work's opening track is perfect if you like your psych filled with a moody drone-riff melody - courtesy Christian Bland - and a vocal like that of Alex Maas’ asking,
“What if I told you everything you know isn’t even really true?/ What if I told you nothing matters in the end?”, plenty of reverb and enough tempo changes to fulfill your rhythmic needs.
