We had our First Listen to Palace last month with 'Veins', the initial taster from their debut EP 'Lost In The Night'.
Now the new London outfit - who have just supported Jamie T at his sold-out London show last week - have dropped another EP track for our listening pleasure - 'Bitter'.
We said of 'Veins' that Leo Wyndham had an 'arresting vocal', well on 'Bitter' - released on October 13 - he just about takes it to the point of a full handcuffs job. It's the kind of voice that is both warming, yet stirring enough to send tingles down the spine with the inflection put on the title word. An intriguing, well-crafted blues-tinged number filled with echoing guitars that is going to pave the way very nicely for Palace as a band who are going places. Another track on their upcoming EP is titled 'I Want What You Got' - we couldn't agree more.
Palace play their debut headline show at St. Pancras Old Church, London on October 15.
The five-track 'Lost In The Night' EP is released on October 20 via Beatnik Creative.
