Listen :: On The Rise Brighton Artist Chalk Says 'It's Fine'
Chalk, the moniker for Brighton's Steven Stride, delivers a fresh bedroom work in the form of 'It's Fine'.
Stream the track - to appear on his forthcoming second album, 'How To Become A Recluse', out on October 27 via Sonic Anhedonic/Kissability - below, along with the animated video for new single 'Everyone's Problem, No One's Problem'.
The latter takes a more uptempo line of jangling guitars, and Stride's vocal taking on a harsher tone, whereas 'It's Fine', typifying his self-description as “lo-fi stark folk", is by far the more interesting - and hence, earworthy - of the two. Chalk builds up from a quiet simplicity into something that oozes its exposed heart matter.
Live Dates:
October
11. Brighton, The Prince Albert (w/Tall Ships)
27. Brighton, The Prince Albert (album launch)
November
22. Cool Thing Night Club, Southend
