First Listen :: Femmepop
Femmepop, aka Maggie O'Sullivan, is a Cork-born, London-based artist who, following her initial self-recorded debut EP 'The Kick' in 2008, (which featured Belle & Sebastian's Chris Geddes on the title track) and a series of more recent singles, has now released her debut album, 'From A Girl Who Never Sleeps'.
The multi-instrumentalist (she is credited with vocals, guitar, synth, keyboards, drums) has been compared to The Cocteau Twins amongst others - she has also apparently had single success in Japan. Sugar rich vocal over electro synth pop strong melodies are her key factors.
Check out two tracks from the album (which you may note has been mixed/mastered by Gavin Monaghan, who had worked with a whole plethora of artists from The Jesus and Mary Chain to Editors) below. Hear more on Bandcamp.
