NYC noise punks The Britanys have less to do with Britney Spears (in case you may have entertained ideas of their being some kind if quasi tribute act), and more to do with early 2000s and 90s rock, and a touch of psych / blues.
The Brooklyn trio (Lucas Long, guitar/vocals), Steele Kratt, drums, and Gabe Schulman, bass), who formed just over a year ago, have now followed up their debut release last year, the 'Hello Britany' EP, with their second, 'It's Alright'.
The three-track album not only serves to highlight the band's energy, but also attitude. 'Reckless' is filled with Long's sneering vocals over four minutes of vibrant, fuzzy melodics. Title-track 'It’s Alright' fires through a garage rock explosion, while the fuzzy distortion and psych pop riffs of 'Blow' echoes to Ty Segall.
'It’s Alright' is out now on Terrorbird Media.
