Track Of The Day :: King's Justice - Darling

Australia, once best known for Wentworth Prison, a plethora of sunny soaps, squillions of kangaroos and that bloke with the wobble board, has, over the last few years, turned itself into a little goldmine for high calibre emerging artists.

King's Justice, the Perth indie pop four-piece, formed in 2011 originally as a duo after lead vocalist Jack Young and drummer Matt Ryder first played a show together following the collapse of Jack’s high school band. After adding two further members they recorded their debut EP 'To Your Arms I’d Run' at Fat Shans Studio in Perth, under the production of owner, engineer, producer Jim Power. The final result, released back in March this year, being a well-crafted four-track work, encompassing elements of indie-pop, jazz and even a touch of neo-folk.

'Darling' is their latest smoothly gilded single - released this week - that sails along on gently swaying bluesy waters, before roaring into life, then dropping back again on an ebb and flow tide, with Young's vocal impressively at the helm.

King's Justice are: Jack Young - guitar / vocals; Matt Ryder - drums / vocals; Tim Arnott - keys / vocals; Declan Sinnott - bass.
