[Video] GHXST - Galaxia

Check out the suitably ghoulish themed Halloween release of GHXST's video for 'Galaxia'.

Following the release of a few infectious singles, the Brooklyn-based doom/blues trio return with the release of their 'Nowhere' EP, which will be out in December via Club.The.Mammoth. Recorded over the last year between New Orleans, Nashville and Brooklyn, the EP also shows a more ethereal and grounded side to their more typical doom/grunge demeanor.

The first track off the EP, 'Galaxia, captures the band at their heaviest with singer Shelley X's moody vocals echoes against a wave of droning guitars.

About the video, lead singer Shelley X says: "It was shot in a week with Clay Adamcyk who we've been collaborating with for live visuals. He uses 'video synths' to manipulate overlay effects and I think that style adds a psychological future vibe to the video. The video was inspired by Philip K Dick novels, cult sci-fi movies like John Carpenter's "They Live", and taking trips to empty NY beaches at night.”

Back in the UK for a few London shows this weekend, GHXST play Barfly, Camden tonight (October 31), and The Hawley Arms, Camden tomorrow as part of the Nightmare Festival.

'Galaxia' is out on November 10.
