Watch :: Weyes Blood - Some Winters
'Some Winters' is the latest track revealed from Weyes Blood's forthcoming album 'The Innocents'. The psych-folk artist had previously released 'Hang On' - click here - back in August.
'Some Winters' will be available as a free download for one week only (Oct 10 - 16) from Soundcloud here.
Weyes Blood is the work of Natalie Mering, one-time member of experimental troupe Jackie-O Motherf**ker and guest on Ariel Pink’s 'Mature Themes' (2013). The sound of Weyes Blood is one of folk (with elements of psych and pop) set against electronics and tape effects, multi-part harmonies, collages and melodic qualities of delay, with Mering’s vocals often compared to Nico.
Watch the accompanying video to 'Some Winters' below. Directed by Winston H Case, we see Mering in an old house in the woods, with just a dog and piano for company. There is an ominous sense that something may happen, but you are not sure what or when. But you won't want to look away until it ends.
'The Innocents' is out on October 21 via Mexican Summer.
