Levellers Announce Bellowhead Collaboration & 'A Curious Life' Film Tour For 2015

Brighton's longstanding folk rockers Levellers have announced the release of 'Just The One', a collaboration with multi-BBC Folk Award winners Bellowhead, which is out on November 24.

Levellers offered Bellowhead completely free reign to rearrange their 1995 hit, subsequently transforming it into a raucous hoedown where Bellowhead frontman Jon Boden sings the lead vocals, accompanied by 13 backing musicians from both bands. The result was recorded at the band's own studio and produced by Seth Lakeman. The original version of 'Just The One' first appeared on Levellers' No. 1 chart album 'Zeitgest' and featured Joe Strummer on piano.

Watch the video below.

'Just The One' is the fourth and final track in a series of collaborations to be released by the Levellers as part of their Top 40 charting 'Greatest Hits' album which was released in September. The album includes every single and video ever released by the band. Both the newly recorded collaborations and the original versions appear on the album.

The band are currently on a largely sold out UK tour, with remaining dates:

'A Curious Life’ is a film about the Levellers and their career which had spanned 27 years. Told through the unique perspective of Jeremy Cunningham, the band’s bass player and artist, the film focuses on the Levellers rise between 1988 and 1998 before nearly disintegrating in a train wreck of drink, drugs and creative drought.

Each screening of the film will be followed by a full live acoustic gig by the band themselves, who will be performing acoustic arrangements of songs from their recently released 'Greatest Hits', alongside many other live favourites from across their 27-year career.
